Hey there! I’m Sara.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor serving clients in Tennessee. When I’m not working, you can usually find me reading (probably a Sarah J. Maas book), trying a recipe I found on Pinterest (there’s a 50/50 chance it’s getting burned), or rewatching something on Netflix. My comfort shows are Breaking Bad and Avatar: The Last Airbender, and if you let me, I will happily get on my soapbox to tell you why these are the two best shows to ever grace our television screens. I love learning about people and culture, and I think I’ve always had a mild obsession with exploring what it means to be human. I love learning about cultural differences and expanding my worldview while also uncovering the common experiences that connect all of humanity. This love of learning about people - their beliefs, quirks, superstitions, pet peeves, and everything in between - naturally led me to this career where I get to connect with folks in the most meaningful way. 

While on my own mental health journey, I noticed that there weren’t many therapists who were able to fully relate to or understand my struggles as a first generation American (and pick up on how these struggles were connected to my anxiety and self-doubt.) It wasn’t until I started working with a therapist from a similar background that I noticed how powerful it is to work with someone who gets it. I love being able to provide that same understanding for my clients and see them grow in the safety of the therapeutic space. 

Between my experiences of working with a variety of clients and my own personal therapy journey (which will look different from yours), I have seen the power of healing emotional wounds and increasing compassion for the self. The journey isn’t linear and there will be obstacles. But with the right support, life can feel easier. I’d love to help you reach your goals.
